Hello!

Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to learn about me. My name is Marilyn.

I was first exposed to tarot cards in 1968 and I've been reading them in earnest since 1975. I am an artist which is what attracted me to them.

My appreciation and fascination for the cards has been due to their artistic expression as well as their historic significance. In much the same way I read a work of art, I read the cards. In forty three years I've certainly learned the meanings of the cards, but my reading style involves more than that. I read, or interpret the images as they appear in relation to the querent's question and also to how they relate to surrounding cards. I am particularly adept at making connections between the cards and applying them to a client's life circumstance.
I innately make connections between things very easily which is probably due to having an artist's eye and thought process.

I've taught tarot in adult evening courses, and to individuals wanting to learn tarot. I've mentored many people.

Off and on through the years I've had my own tarot practice reading for individual clients. I've done private parties and read at group events. I've also read for phone services, and of course for friends and family.

For what it may be worth, I earned the title, "Certified Professional Tarot Reader" through the Tarot Certification Board in September 2000 by the then Executive Director, John Gilbert. By that time I had already been reading tarot for about twenty five years.  I have not pursued further certification since that time, since tarot is more an art than a science, and proving my competency was something I had already accomplished.

My intent is not to tell your futures. I interpret the cards in relation to a client's question. My intent is to assist the client in making sense of his or her current situation by considering options that hadn't been thought of before. My intent is for my clients to decide for themselves what course of action will lead them to the best possible outcomes.

My approach is a combination of visual understanding and a clear understanding of what the cards mean in the traditional sense. I do not subscribe to Kabbalah, or Astrological tarot traditions. I subscribe to interpreting the images, suits, and numbers presented in relation to the querent's question and how these elements relate to one another. I respond to the visual which may or may not include Kabbalistic or astrological references. I read from a variety of tarot deck styles though TdM (Tarot de Marseille and Milan) are my preferred decks.

At this stage in my life, I no longer read for strangers in my home and I am getting too old for running around doing fairs. After creating my daily IG feed, I have received so many private messages requesting my services that creating my own online website service was a natural evolution for me.

I have been asked to explain if a remote reading is as valid as reading in person. Perhaps it comes down to believing that a reader can be connected to other living beings without meeting them. I believe I can. I think of it as an invisible thread between all humans, whether we've met or not. We attract what we put out. Ultimately, the people I am meant to read for, will find me.

The cards are intrinsically relevant to everyone. My method is one of combining the imagery of the cards with a keenly developed intuitive affinity for connecting the dots between the images and their traditional meanings and relating them to my client's situation in a meaningful way.

The message of the cards can aid in healing and empowering an individual more through psychology than fortune-telling, though I cannot deny their uncanny ability to hit the nail on the head most of the time. Frankly, I don't know how they work, I only know that they do.

I choose a deck that I feel is most aligned with the nature of the question or I pick a deck from my collection that feels right for the occasion.

If you have a chance, please read my blog entries. You will learn a lot about me there as well.

Please visit my Instagram feed @TheTarotReader and if you like my work there, we're probably a good match.

I do not do free readings from this site.

You may also visit my YouTube channel where I exclusively present tarot videos. Most are instructional, and others are comparisons between tarot decks. I have a series on Tarot de Marseille which will ultimately teach you to read it with confidence and without realizing you are learning. If I must say so myself, its a very interesting video series and I encourage you to take advantage of it.

Incidentally, I am an ordained non-denominational minister who runs a wedding ministry and my tarot practice falls under the umbrella of my ministry.

I am a self-employed woman who loves what she does and I am able to dedicate my time exclusively to my clients. Most often I am able to send a reading within 24 hours, but I do request 48 hours as a buffer due to increased volume of requests and because I try to have a life ;) . (Most often I am able to send readings off within about 12 to 24 hours.)

Love,
Marilyn
